Children enjoying the 2024 Mother's Day activities.

Children participated in several activities that resulted in gifts they could give to their mothers.

The children created "I Love You to Pieces" cards. They cut different coloured paper into small pieces, then used the papers to design a heart on the outside of the cards. On the inside, they wrote personalized, heartfelt messages to their mothers.

Students were creative when designing their Mother's Day cards.

Pieces of coloured paper were used to make hearts on some cards.

Children created potted flower bouquets. Each child was given a potted flower and taught how to wrap it to resemble a bouquet. They tied a ribbon around it and attached a message for their mothers. Children were also taught some basic gardening skills and how to take care of the plants.

The Mother’s Day event was more than just a celebration; it was an opportunity for children to learn, create, and grow. By combining creative arts with lessons on gardening, we provided a well-rounded, enriching experience that fostered both educational and emotional development. This event highlighted the importance of celebrating loved ones while also teaching valuable life skills in a fun and engaging way.

Gardening is a useful skills the students can use throughout their lives and they learned the responsibility involved in caring for a live plant. Expressing their appreciation for their mothers with heartfelt messages and creating personalized gifts helped children articulate their emotions and understand the joy of giving, enhancing their emotional development.
